These conditions have been written with the goal of being as fair as possible to both the students and tutor.

Enrollment

Enrollments are on-going until we’re notified to cancel the student’s enrollment.

Contact Information

Kākā Guitār requires the following contact information from the primary contact person of the student:

  • (1) student’s name

  • (2) contact name (if different from student)

  • (3) email address

  • (4) phone number

  • (5) physical address

All information is confidential between Kākā Guitār and the client.

Pricing

Kākā Guitar’s lesson prices are based on qualifications, and local market competitors. Prices are in NZD and tax inclusive. Kākā Guitar reserves the right to change pricing at any time.

Payment

Lessons are purchased in blocks (up front) to align with the school terms.

Students who start mid-way through a term will be invoiced from their start date to the end of term.

Invoices will be sent out at the beginning of the each term before the first lesson. Payment for the issued invoice is due in 1 week after the invoice is sent — weekly automatic payments or other mutually agreed on payment plans options are available.

Vouchers

Vouchers or concession card are flexible options as a gift or for students unable to commit to a consistent frequency of lessons. Both the student and Kākā Guitār are expected to fulfill the lessons within the voucher or concession card’s valid time-frame. Only available to adult students (18+).

Catch-up Lessons

As of Term 3 2023, catch-up lessons for any missed lessons are not available to any students outside of school terms.

All lessons for the term are planned in advance and fixed once organised. It is expected that students commit to and attend all lessons organised.

Any factors out of Kākā Guitār’s control that causes a student to miss their lesson during the term is not Kākā Guitār’s responsibility to amend and reimburse.

If a student is ill or they know they are going miss a lesson in advance, please get in touch and there may be an alternative solution.

Below are more details on the catch-up lesson policy.

If You Miss A Lesson

  • If the student misses a lesson without any prior notice, the lesson will be forfeited.

  • For solo students and with at least 24 hours notice of the lesson, Kākā Guitār will try to reschedule the missed lesson for an alternative time. This alternative time will be within 5 business days from the missed lesson and limited to Kākā Guitār’s set teaching hours.

  • If you cannot make an alternative time during the week of the missed lesson, or there are no spare slots available, the missed lesson will be forfeited.

If We Miss A Lesson

  • Kākā Guitār will reschedule the lesson for an alternative time.

  • If we cannot organise an alternative time for the missed lesson, Kākā Guitār will credit the lesson to the following term or refund the monetary cost of the missed lesson(s).

If a Schedule-Clash Occurs

This section only applies to in school lessons as an event outside the control of Kākā Guitār.

Both the school and Kākā Guitār work together on the upcoming term schedule to avoid schedule-clashes.

However, during the school term, there may be an unexpected school event that will interrupt the planned Kākā Guitār lessons in schools. These schedule-clashes are unforeseen by Kākā Guitār as they are due to the school scheduling an event during the term.

In the event of an unforeseen schedule-clash during the term:

  • Kākā Guitār will try to reschedule the lesson to another day within 5 business days of the interrupted lesson. This is based on the flexibility of both the school and Kākā Guitār.

  • If there is an available day to reschedule lesson Kākā Guitār will notify the effected students about the day it has been rescheduled to.

  • If there is no availability to reschedule those interrupted lessons, the interrupted lesson will be forfeited by the client.

  • In other words, there is no guarantee rescheduling these interrupted lessons will be available. Both the Kākā Guitār and the school will do our best to find a rescheduling solution.

Callout Fee

Call out are currently unavailable (30/01/2023)
If there is a callout, fees are added to the chosen lesson type. Callouts will only be in question if the listed locations are unattainable to the client and at the convenience of the tutor. This is based on the time of day requested and distance from the tutor’s teaching location.

Unpaid Invoices

Please get in contact if you are struggling to pay your invoice and we can work out a amicable solution.
If you do not get in contact/reply with reasonable time (two days) and/or do not pay your invoice three days after the due date, a 5% late fee will be added each fortnight starting from the due date of the invoice. More action can be taken if overdue invoices are not resolved.

By enrolling as a client with Kākā Guitār, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions; all information, declarations, representations, statements, consents, and confirmations made by the client are true and accurate; and, should any declarations, representations, statements, consents, or confirmations made in this not be true and accurate both the client and Kākā Guitār will experience consequences of the situation.
